It's Fall

Fall is one of my Favorite times of year. The leaves changing, the cool air, the smell of holidays approaching, the clothes, Halloween and you can't forget Thanksgiving. We decided not to dress Claire this year because well we didnt want to tote her around and say trick or treat, knowing that the people know the candy is not for her. Anyway next year it is on. LOL!! Besides miss priss has been under the weather no thanks to her mama and daddy. SHe is on the mend now, thank goodness. We took her to the pedi last week and she received her next round of shots, Yuck!. She did rather well with them and not so well with the doctor. She has entered her 'I don't know you, you are a stranger' phase. She is now 26 and a half inches (95%) and 16lbs (75%) oh and teething. She is now eating squash(only gagged twice), sweet peas (loves those) and sweet potatoes (also loves those). It is so much fun but not when she throws them on you. LOL!!! She has become her on little person and is talking up a storm. Anyway I am going to post some pics.

My Baby is 5 months

Well my little one is 5 months old. I really can't believe it. It has been a long road but one that has been awesome. Right now she is blowing rasberries and belly crawling, oh and teething. The last part really sucks by the way, but hey whatever. Just wanted to share that and some pics.

Make Believe

I am going to repost this. I had to set my blog to private because of some people being nosy and decided that I would repost this. This is my blog and if you don't like what it says then don't read it. Because once again I am honest.

I have been under the weather for the past week and I finally have relief.Thank the Lord. I have been able to think about things lately and I can't seem to turn my mind off from these things. I think maybe my expectations of people are too high and maybe I need to lower my standards. Maybe I have been living in a "make believe" world and let me tell you why.

I grew up in a small town were everyone knew one another and/or related to each other. So basically everyone is family. Family, hmmmm. This is something I have been thinking about. I think maybe I grew up thinking that family is important, too important maybe. My family (my mom, dad, sister, grandparents, aunts, uncles and first cousins) always got together at least a couple times a year. My immediate family (mom, dad and sister) always sat down to dinner every night, and when I say every, I mean every night. That's when we caught up with each other and there were no if, ands, or buts about it. Every Sunday we ate dinner with my grandparents and shared many laughs, tears and stories with one another. Even when we were in high school it was the same thing. When we went to college we always went home to catch up with each other at least once a week if not more. I talked with my family like everyday. When my sister and I got married, my family opened their arms and hearts to our spouses and they think the world of them. We always vacationed together and had a blast especially with my dads lolligagging and my sisters oh so patience with everything. We still went out to eat every Friday night and most Sundays we would gather at my parents house. Now at times it was hard to pick somewhere to eat on Friday nights because we had exhausted our choices but nonetheless we always got together. We still talk to each other at least once a week since I am like 800 miles away. We never talked about one another, spread lies about one another and we never just quit talking to one another. We never made each other feel as though they didn't matter. And maybe it may be that I have a small family rather than a large or maybe I grew up in a fantasy land. There is one thing that I am and it is honest and always have been. In the past couple of months there have been some things that have happened, some good but some bad. It amazes me how people say they love you but in distant, in the dark they talk about you, and not in a good way. It reminds me of the old saying "if someone will talk to you about someone then they will talk about you to someone". I think everyone needs to remember that. No one is innocent and without wrong doing in this world, but to spread lies and to "pretend" to be someone you are not such as "acting" like you care is beyond me. If some people only knew the things that have been said about them by the people that "love" them. If you haven't guessed I have been hurt emotionally by people that I considered family and I have been sent away like an unwanted puppy. I have been trying to lick my wounds and recover all while putting on a brave and happy face for my husband and baby. I have been embarrassed, humiliated and disregarded by a fleet of people, my husband as well. I think that is what hurts me the most is seeing the man that I love being thrown out like yesterdays garbage. I'm tired of lies, the cold shoulder and people who can't come clean. This is why it is time for us as a family to move on to better opportunities and out of this dark, lonely hole that we have been thrown into. I am ready to put my mind at ease and to be able to sleep at night and not worry about how my husband is being treated. I will no longer let anyone talk to me about someone and I will no longer talk about anyone to anybody. I am done with the game. I'm DONE!

Phew I needed to get that off my chest.

Babies and King Tut

Queen of the Nile
She loves her "Pops"
Just chillaxin
And standing
I promised a King Tut story, well I have one for you. Mike, mama, daddy, Claire and I went to the King Tut exhibit on Sunday. It started out real well by the guy who checked my baby bag saying, "What is that?" , "Well sir it is formula, diapers, butt wipes, bottles, burp cloth, oh and water", "They won't let you take water in the exhibit", thought to myself ' I'll hide it then'. And so I did, I hid the water in a side pocket and zipped it up. If any of you have kids you know that a hungry baby is an unhappy baby and the only way they can tell you that is the loud screaming. Anyway we get past that and go into a room where they turn off the lights and you watch a 90 second over cap of King Tut who is narrated by Omar Serif (OK), funny how I remember this, well I'm guessing Claire thought we were trying to put her to sleep. She began her sleep fuss, GREAT. Anyway that was 90 seconds, and we enter the exhibit. What an awesome exhibit we got to see at a fast pace, because well most of it made you feel as though you were in the tomb, so it was darkish, and well a little fussiness would ensue in the dark spots. Nonetheless, it was really really neat.

Monday morning we went and had baby portraits and family portraits taken and they turned out awesome. I can't wait until we get them back. Claire belly crawled across the room Monday to see her daddy, which turned into an 'Oh crap' moment, she is mobile. My parents left Tues afternoon asking if they could take Claire with them. They really enjoy and value their time with her. She is a very fortunate little girl to have people in her life that love her so much.

As I was Saying

My parents arrived on Tuesday for a weeks visit. I arrived a little early at the airport in hopes to relax, well they arrived early so I had 10 minutes to collect my thoughts. They came through the revolving doors looking for their heart and soul, and no people that is not me, and immediately spotted her. They came over cautious not to approach us to quickly, as to not scare Claire. Well that didn't stop the bottom lip quiver and the semi "I don't know these people" look. After about 5 minutes she had them, they both melted like butter and have for the past 2 and half days. She has really really enjoyed her "pops", I think it may be the facial hair, she loves to put her hands in it. And nana is constantly playing "patty cake" with her. My parents become young again and just light up with a love and glow that I haven't seen in a long time. They have arranged for family portraits at the nearby JC Penney in the coming days because frankly they are tired of just camera pictures. They have informed me that we are to do these every couple of months, well excuse me. LOL! We went today shopping for similar tops for baby and mama/daddy. We were successful, Yay! Claire is such a happy and very patient baby unless hungry and or sleepy at which time she will definitely let you know it and fast. We will go see the King Tut exhibit at the Dallas Museum of Art as well this week, which will be awesome. I will let all of you in on that.

Claire is still eating rice cereal, rolling over, holding her head up and trying very very hard to crawl. I am completely amazed at her brilliance and determination. It's hard for me to believe she is only 4 months and 2 weeks. She is still our light and love and I could not imagine one day without her. I am truly blessed with the love that I have and the love I give.

This is what I woke up to this morning. What a beautiful sight.

Are there any cherries left?

I have decided to join the crowd and create my own blog, of course it is my "family" blog. No stone will be left unturned. I will start by telling a little about myself and my family of three. Here goes...

I am officially today 26, Yay! This is said with lots of enthusiasm believe me. Yesterday was mine and Mike's 5th wedding anniversary. Now that is something to really be excited about. I come from a very small family, one seester and of course my mom and dad. I grew up in a small rural town in south Georgia. The sad thing is that the community I live in now, which is a housing community, no stores, has as many people as my home town. I always give 100% of myself to my friends and family. I am a very loving, devoted, caring, friendly, sarcastic, and optimistic person. I am a very tolerating person unless you hurt my family or meddle in my business. Mike and I moved to Texas 2 years ago which has had it's ups and downs as with anything. My family and friends are so proud of Mike and I and believe in us 100%. Which is awesome considering we really in a way have grown up together and maybe sometimes haven't made the best of decisions. Their support is just awesome, I couldn't ask for anything better. I, of course, have a new family now with Mike. Claire Morgan graced us with her appearence on May 21st. And let me tell you that was a scary, satisfying and awesome experience.

My Mike is originally from California and grew up with 5 other siblings. He has a large family. He has an awesome dad that taught him good morals and values. He is what "men" are suppose to be. His mom is a very nice and loving person who at times is very "flighty" but that is what makes her, her and unique. Four out of five of his siblings live within 2 hours of here and his dad and stepmom live 3 hours from here. So it makes for fun and interesting family gatherings. All of his siblings are unique in their own ways which is something I admire in all of them. His mom and a sister live in San Fran and seem to Love it. Hopefully one day we will get to visit them. He truly is my true love and soul mate and as my dad said when he gave permission for my hand in marriage " I couldn't have asked or picked a better man to stand by my daughters side".

Claire is a spitting image of Mike all except her hands, ears and nose. Those do come from me. She is a redhead with blue eyes and a personality to go along with that red hair. She has beautiful big almond shaped eyed with long, curled eyelashes which one day is going to have boys on their knees. Psst don't mention boys to Mike, he's already planned his attack. LOL!! I'm hoping she is going to be tall and slender like her daddy instead of short and squatty like her mama. I have a really strong feeling she is going to be spoiled rotten, and she will get all the attention she can stand for a long time. Right now she is rolling over like crazy, trying to crawl, eating yummy yummy rice cereal, and finding her voice box. She is soo much fun to have and gives us something to do. She is a daddy's girl for sure.

I will try and keep this thing up and going and will fill everyone in on our adventures as a family. My parents will be here on Tues for a week which is going to be super nice but always very interesting to say the least so I am sure I will have something to write.
